Doing something new with #FollowFriday

by Alexander Blom on June 11, 2010

in Follow Friday

I’ve decided there is little value in doing a flat Follow Friday. Listing 7 names without saying who they are, what their skills are and why it is important is not how I like to approach things.

At times I have done longer Follow Friday’s explaining why the person is important. Today I expand on that. Each week (starting today, stay tuned) I’m going to give each person I Follow Friday a longer plug on this blog. They will say who they are, why they are important and what they can do for you.

This is very much an experiment so bear with me. I hope this adds value to your Twitter stream, the people I suggest are always adding value to my stream.

Hi, Alex! As usual, this post shows your SMART thinking! The long #FF lists without explanations can be very overwhelming — and “spammy.” I've been refraining from participating in the #FF craziness for this reason, but I think you've come up with a great solution — and I do think this idea will translate very well to our project together.
Kathy
P.S. And THANK YOU forever for giving me my first “#FollowFriday when I started on Twitter…

Alex, excellent idea and something I am going to apply each day, to hopefully change the blocks of names, that are just that, blocks of names.

Great idea Alex – You are thinking outside of the box, I like that. I hope this helps boost things for you.

Good luck,
